How it works

The tool encodes your Maps link directly into the QR pattern, in your browser, so the code opens your location in Google Maps. When someone scans it, they see your place with a tap-to-navigate button, so they can set off straight away.

Getting a link that always points to you

The trick to a reliable Maps code is using the right link, and the safe one is the place's own Share link. Search your business or address in Google Maps, open it, press Share, and copy the link it gives you. That link is tied to the place itself, so it opens your location for anyone, anywhere.

What to avoid is grabbing the long URL out of your browser's address bar while you happen to be looking at a route, since that can carry your own starting point or a specific directions view baked in, which is not what you want a stranger to see.
