What this does
So you want a random country flag, maybe to test yourself, maybe to settle on a country, maybe just because flags are good. Tap Generate and it shows you a random flag along with the country's name. Want several at once? Set the number and it gives you that many. You can click any flag to download it as an SVG, and there are filters if you want to narrow things down to certain countries.
How to use it
- Set Number / Quantity to how many flags you want, from 1 to 100.
- Tap Generate to get random flags, each with its country name.
- Click any flag to download it as an SVG file.
Generate again any time for a fresh set.
How it works
The tool holds a list of around 250 countries and territories, each paired with its flag. When you tap Generate, your browser's random generator, Math.random, picks from that list, and when you ask for several at once it picks different ones rather than repeating within the batch. The flags are SVG images, which means they stay sharp at any size and download cleanly. All of it runs on your device.
The country names and codes follow the international ISO 3166 standard, which is the official list of country codes used worldwide.
Narrowing it down with filters
Under the result you will find three filters, Starts with, Contains, and Ends with. They work on the country name. So if you type a in Starts with, you will only get countries that start with A, like Argentina or Australia. Type land in Contains and you will see the likes of Iceland, Ireland, and Thailand. They are handy for quizzes where you want to focus on a region or a letter, or just to hunt down a particular flag.
What is included
The set covers around 250 countries and territories, which is the full ISO 3166 list. That means alongside the countries you would expect, you will also come across smaller territories and dependencies like the Åland Islands, Bouvet Island, or American Samoa. Every flag can be downloaded as an SVG, so they double as clean assets if you ever need a flag for a project.
What people use it for
It is a quick way to study for a geography quiz, drilling flags until you know them on sight. Teachers and quiz makers use it to pull random flags for questions. Designers and students grab the SVGs as ready made assets. And if you ever just need to pick a random country, for a trip idea, a theme night, or a game, this lands on one for you.
Questions people ask
How many flags are there?
Around 250, covering the full ISO 3166 list of countries and territories. That is why you will see dependencies and smaller territories alongside the usual countries.
Can I download the flags?
Yes. Click any flag and it downloads as an SVG file, which stays crisp at any size and works well in design tools.
How do the filters work?
They match the country name. Starts with and Ends with each take a single letter, and Contains takes any text, so you can narrow the flags down to the ones you want.
Will I get repeats when I generate several?
No. When you ask for several at once, it picks different countries rather than repeating within that batch.
