What this does

So you have got a word and you are curious what else its letters can become. Type it in, press Generate, and it rearranges the letters into anagrams, laid out by length. Think of it as a way to shuffle a word every which way and see all the combinations in front of you, ready to pick through.

How to use it

  1. Type your word into the box.
  2. Use the two dropdowns to set the shortest and longest results you want, anywhere from 2 to 10.
  3. Press Generate, and the rearrangements appear grouped by length. Reset clears everything to start again.

Change the length range and generate again to widen or narrow what you see.

How it works

You give it a word, and it works through the different ways the letters can be arranged. It takes the letters of your word, and pieces of it, and lays out the rearrangements, then sorts them into groups by how many letters long each one is. The two dropdowns simply decide which of those lengths you see. It all runs in your browser, so the word you type is not sent anywhere.

What it is good for

It is built for wordplay. Run a word through it and scan the results for the ones that jump out, a smaller word hidden inside a longer one, a neat rearrangement, or an idea for a username or a team name. Word game players use it to see what a set of letters can make, puzzle fans use it when they are stuck on an anagram, and it is handy any time you want to look at a word from every angle. Half the fun is spotting the combinations that actually mean something.

Questions people ask

What does it give me?

It returns the different ways the letters of your word can be rearranged, grouped by length, for you to look through and pick from.

Can I choose the length of the results?

Yes. The two dropdowns set the shortest and longest results you want to see, from 2 to 10, and the output comes grouped by length.

What length of word works best?

Shorter and medium words are the sweet spot. The number of ways to rearrange letters grows very quickly as a word gets longer, so a shorter word gives you a tidy set to scan through.

Is my word sent anywhere?

No. The whole thing runs in your browser, so nothing you type leaves your device.
