What this tool does

This tool pulls all the text out of a PowerPoint presentation, slide by slide. Upload your .pptx file and it gathers the words from every slide into one labelled list you can read or copy, all in your browser with nothing uploaded.

How to use it

1. Select your PPTX file.
2. Press Extract, and the tool reads through the slides.
3. Read or copy the text, with each slide clearly marked. Reset clears it for another file.

How it works

A PPTX file follows the same trick as other modern document formats: it is a ZIP archive, and inside it each slide is stored as its own XML file in a slides folder. The tool unzips the presentation, finds those slide files, puts them back in the right order, and reads the text out of each one. The result is laid out slide by slide, with a heading like --- Slide 1 --- before each, so you can see which words came from where. It all runs on your device.

What it captures, and what it skips

Being clear about this saves confusion. The tool captures the text that lives on the slides themselves, the titles, bullet points, and words in text boxes, in slide order. What it does not pull out is a few things worth noting: speaker notes, which PowerPoint stores separately from the slides, any text baked into an image rather than typed, and the labels inside charts or diagrams, which are kept in their own way. The visual design, the layout, colours, and animations, is dropped too, since the point here is the words.

That makes it ideal for getting the substance of a deck out quickly: turning a presentation into notes or a handout, searching what it actually says, lifting the points into a document, or reviewing the content without opening PowerPoint at all.
