People are coming over, and someone asks what you are making to drink. Your mind goes blank, or it goes straight to the one cocktail you always make. Either way you are stuck, and the guests are already taking their coats off.

This is the fix. Press Generate and it hands you a cocktail to make, pulled at random from a long list of real drinks, from a classic Margarita or Negroni to a Vesper Martini or a Paloma. Planning a menu? Ask for a few and it gives you a spread of different ones to build from.

One responsible note: these are for adults of legal drinking age. Drink in moderation, never drink and drive, and avoid alcohol during pregnancy or whenever it is not safe for you.

What the generator gives you

Keep your expectations right and it is genuinely useful. We keep a hand-checked list of real cocktails, and Generate pulls one out at random. Ask for several and you get that many different drinks in one draw.

Two quick settings. Decide how many you want, hit Generate, and Copy saves the result to a note. To steer the menu, the filters below help.

One honest thing worth saying: it gives you the drink, the name and the idea, not the full recipe with measures. That is deliberate. Once you know you are making a Paloma, the exact recipe is one quick search away, and half the fun is finding the version you like.

Ideas for when you would use it

  • A party menu. Build the short list above and write it on a card for the night.
  • Date night. Pick one to make together instead of debating it.
  • A tasting night. Generate a few, make small versions, and rate them with friends.
  • Breaking the rut. If you default to the same Margarita every time, let it push you somewhere new.
  • A themed evening. Filter toward a spirit or a style and let it shape the whole theme.

Narrowing the results

Let it run open and it is great for a menu you would not have planned. When you have a direction, three filters shape it:

  • Starts with. Lock the first letter of the name.
  • Contains. Insist on a word in the name, like "martini" for that family or "mojito" for something long and minty.
  • Ends with. Lock the last letter.

Push it too far and nothing qualifies, so you get a plain note in place of a blank, and you loosen one and shake again.

Is it free?

Yes. It runs in the browser, needs no signup, and there is no limit on generating.

Does it give recipes or just names?

Names and ideas, not full recipes with measures. Once you have a drink you like the look of, the recipe is a quick search away.

Can I generate a few for a menu?

Yes. Set the number and you get that many different cocktails in one draw, ready to copy onto a list.

Can the same drink repeat?

Not within a single batch, where each result is different. Across separate clicks it can, since every click is a fresh pick.

Where does the cocktail list come from?

It is a hand-checked list of real cocktails, classics and modern ones both, that we keep adding to over time.
