What this does

Need your text in capitals? This flips every letter to uppercase in one go. Paste whatever you have, press the button, and it comes back in full caps, ready to copy. It beats holding Shift through a whole sentence or retyping something that should have been capitals in the first place.

How to use it

  1. Drop your text into the box on the left.
  2. Click Change, and the uppercase version appears on the right.
  3. Use Copy to take it, or Clear to wipe the box and start fresh.

It runs entirely in your browser, so your text never goes anywhere you did not send it.

What changes and what stays

Only the letters are affected. Every lowercase letter becomes its capital, while letters that are already capitals are left as they are. Numbers, spaces, and punctuation are untouched, so page 3, line 7 keeps its figures and commas and simply becomes PAGE 3, LINE 7. Accented letters are handled too, so café turns into CAFÉ rather than losing its accent. In short, the meaning and the symbols stay put, the letters just get louder.

When all caps is the right call

Capitals have their place. Headings and titles often use them for weight. Labels, signs, and buttons lean on caps so they catch the eye. Acronyms and codes like reference numbers usually live in uppercase. Forms sometimes ask for your name or postcode in block capitals so they are easy to read. And now and then you simply want a word or two to stand out. For any of those, this gets you there in a click.

The shouting question

One thing worth keeping in mind. Online, a whole message in capitals reads as shouting, and it can come across as aggressive even when you did not mean it that way. So caps are great for a heading or a label, but for an actual message to a person, a sentence or two in full uppercase can land harder than you intend. Use it for emphasis and structure, go easy on it in conversation, and your tone stays where you want it.

Questions people ask

Does it change numbers and punctuation?

No, those are left exactly as they are. Only letters are converted, so your figures, spaces, and punctuation come through unchanged.

What happens to accented letters?

They are capitalised along with the rest, keeping their accent. A letter like é becomes É rather than dropping the mark.

Can I turn capitals back into lowercase?

Not with this tool, since it only goes one way. To bring text down to small letters, use the lowercase tool instead.

Is there a limit to how much I can convert?

No fixed limit. You can convert anything from a single word to a long passage, though a very large amount of text may take a brief moment.
