What this tool does

Facebook names cover more ground than a single profile: business Pages, community Groups, and the group chats friends love to rename. This tool generates name ideas across that range, which you can filter and copy for whichever one you are setting up.

How to use it

Choose how many ideas you want with Number / Quantity, then press Generate. If you have a direction in mind, the Starts with, Contains, and Ends with filters each keep only ideas matching a letter or word. Copy takes the list so you can shortlist your favourites elsewhere.

How it works

The tool pulls at random from a large, hand-built list of name ideas, so it is a way to get the ball rolling. The filters trim that list toward whatever you are after. Take a result you like and make it your own.

Where the name goes changes the rules

The single most useful thing to know is that Facebook treats personal profiles very differently from Pages and Groups.

A personal profile falls under Facebook's real-name policy: it expects the name you actually go by in everyday life. Stylised spellings, fancy lettering, or invented names can get flagged or rejected, so the playful ideas here are not really meant for your own profile.

Pages and Groups are where the creativity belongs. A business Page can carry a brand name, and a Group can be called almost anything that suits its community, which is exactly the sort of thing this list leans toward. The same goes for naming a group chat, where there are no rules at all beyond what makes your friends laugh. Pages and profiles can also claim a short username, the vanity part of the web address, of up to 50 characters. If you do want decorative lettering for a Page name or a bio, the font changer turns plain text into styled Unicode you can paste in.

Questions people ask

Can I use any name on my personal profile?

Not really. Facebook's real-name policy asks for the name you go by in daily life, and unusual or stylised names on a profile can be flagged. Creative names are better suited to Pages and Groups.

What about Pages and Groups?

Those give you far more freedom. A Page can use a brand name and a Group can use almost any name that fits its purpose, which is what most of these ideas are aimed at.

Can I use these to name a group chat?

Yes, and that is one of the easiest fits. Group-chat names have no restrictions, so anything from the list that suits the crew works.

Are the names made by AI?

No. They are drawn at random from a curated list of ideas, so use them as starting points to adapt. The filters help you narrow toward a theme or keyword.
