What this generator does

This picks a random month, anything from January to December. One tap gives you a single month, with nothing to enter. It is the fastest way to let chance choose a month for you.

How to use it

  1. Press Generate. A random month appears.

Press again for another.

How it picks

There are twelve months, and each gets an equal chance, so every tap is a fresh one-in-twelve pick. The result does not depend on what came before, which means the same month can turn up twice in a row. Each press is its own independent draw.

What people use it for

Writing prompts, where a random month sets the season or backdrop for a story or exercise. Quizzes and games that need a month to work with. Planning or decision-making when you want chance to pick a month for an event or a goal. And classroom activities, where a random month can kick off a discussion or a task. It hands the choosing over to a single tap.

Questions people ask

Which months can it pick?

Any of the twelve, January through December, each with an equal chance.

Can the same month come up twice?

Yes. Each pick is independent, so the same month can appear on consecutive taps.

Can I limit it to a season?

Not in this tool, which draws from all twelve months. For a single season you would tap again if the month falls outside the one you want.

How do I get another?

Press Generate again for a fresh random month.
