Going from km/h to m/s is the reverse of the clean m/s to km/h conversion, so instead of multiplying by 3.6, you divide by it:

Written as a multiplication, that is times 0.277778. The 3.6 comes from the 3,600 seconds in an hour and 1,000 metres in a kilometre, so dividing by it is exact. The m/s figure always comes out a good deal smaller than the km/h, since a metre per second is a much larger step than a kilometre per hour.
